Full time all-rounders, approx. 40 hours per week. Wage includes vegan/vegetarian meals and accommodation. August start and early December finish. 

We are looking for like minded beautiful people who wish to Volunteer in our guest lodge and yoga retreat starting from Sunday 24th of July in the the lush tropical rainforest overlooking the coral sea at Mission Beach near Cairns Australia.

This is a unique rainforest Lodge and yoga retreat catering for travellers of all kinds to experience the rainforest. We are set on 50 acres of lush tropical rainforest overlooking the coral sea. The land is a wildlife refuge providing safe haven for endangered species including the flightless bird the southern cassowary. Our aim is to demonstrate the importance of conserving tropical rainforest. We fund this project by running a 40 bed eco-Lodge.

This is a beautiful place for a holiday and a beautiful place to be as a working Volunteer. Our holiday makers and yoga guests are here to relax while our working volunteers are here to help with the running of the retreat and conservation space. We are also looking for paid hospitality staff who can commit for at least a couple of months.

Some of the things you can expect as a volunteer when you stay with us are

Sanctuary is an eco accredited retreat catering for travellers of all kinds to experience the rainforest. 

We offer accommodation in huts and cabins under the canopy of the jungle as well as a central house where there is a restaurant, bar, lounge area and deck overlooking the rainforest and ocean. Therefore our volunteers help out with the general day-to-day running of the Retreat. 

Work includes making up beds in the huts, helping in the restaurant and bar, general cleaning and sweeping and maintaining the tracks. Our volunteers work five hours a day five days a week in exchange for accommodation in twin rooms here at Sanctuary Retreat this includes full board. Food is provided on a self serve basis during the morning and evening and in the middle of the day for lunch a delicious meal is cooked for you by our Chef's.

Sanctuary is a beautiful place for a holiday and beautiful place to volunteer. Our holiday makers are here to relax while volunteers primary function is to help with the running of the retreat please be aware that our volunteers are expected to work times that are appropriate to the demands of the retreat. We also asked for a commitment to a two week minimum stay. Another thing to remember is the rainforest, if you come to volunteer at Sanctuary Retreat you will be living in the middle of a rainforest. Please consider your feelings about sharing the habitat of many creepy crawlies and citing the occasional snakes along with other beautiful creatures in the rainforest etc.
